Andrew is a scientist and engineer with a passion for growing businesses and with a working lifetime of doing business internationally. His first experience of doing business internationally was in his mid-twenties and this has continued over the next 4 decades. Today Andrew lives in the UK, and is an investor, non-executive director and strategy consultant working in the scientific and technology sectors. He has been a senior executive, CEO and business owner.
Andrew has worked with companies of all sizes, both publicly quoted and privately owned, across four continents, North America, Europe, Asia and Australasia, and across a broad spectrum of technology and scientific businesses. Andrew has been fortunate to experience the complete business cycle from start-up, through early stage commercialisation, expansion and exit, via both trade sale and IPO. Andrew has been working with investors, both institutions and individuals, for over 30 years in addition to investing his own time and money in both new and established ventures. Andrew’s diverse and varied career has equipped him with many transferable skills, the ability to empathise with the various stakeholders’ viewpoint and the knowledge to formulate and ask critical questions in a professional, honest & transparent way.
Phil is an international business leader, with a demonstrable record in managing Subsidiaries and Distributor networks across North America, EMEA, Asia Pacific and Latin America. His professional career has been largely in a variety of fast-growing Life Science, Molecular Diagnostic and Biotechnology companies. These experiences have equipped Phil with the skills to nurture organisational change, develop people and grow business – we consider these to be the pillars of sustainable businesses.
Phil began his career working at Beecham Pharmaceuticals as a research cell and molecular biologist working on various project including Interferon and Tissue Plasminogen Activator. He left research and joined Flow Laboratories, a specialist in cell biology and ELISA consumables and equipment. During his 4+ years at Flow he became Sales Manager before leaving to join APP ltd as General Manager and Sales Director. After 5 years Phil left to join Boehringer Mannheim in Business Development, and Divisional Director of the Life Sciences business covering UK and Ireland. His final role at Boehringer Mannheim was as Divisional Director of Laboratory Diagnostics, addressing the clinical chemistry diagnostic business in the UK & Ireland.
After a total of 8 years Phil moved on to join QIAGEN as Managing Director (UK&I) before promoted to lead QIAGEN’s commercial business activities in EMEA, Asia Pac and Latin America. Phil was at QIAGEN for 13 years.
After his time at QIAGEN he joined TAP Biosystems (formerly The Automation Partnership) as Commercial Director. As part of the Board, he was instrumental in turning the fortunes of the company around ending in the eventual sale to Sartorius Stedim. Following his departure from TAP Biosystems Phil secured Commercial Director roles in Bibby Scientific (Interim role), LGC Genomics and Novacyt Group before joining george james ltd in 2019

Mark has been providing consultancy service since 2009, following a successful career in major life science instrument and services as well as diagnostic companies such as Applied Biosystems, Thermo Fisher Scientific, Agilent Technologies and Dako A/S
Mark’s services have included interim management and management consulting to large, medium and small companies in the healthcare, life sciences, bio-tools, diagnostics and analytical instrument space. In addition, Mark has significant board level experience both with SME and early-stage companies.
Mark has a proven record of working with companies making the jump to first substantial revenue generation, those seeking a rapid acceleration in profitable revenue growth to support further fund raising or to improve the company valuation in preparation for a liquidity event, as well as mid-market companies seeking to scale their organisations, business systems and core commercial processes to take advantage of organic growth opportunities.

Mark is located in Central Switzerland and when not consulting enjoys walks with his wife and two dogs (Bentley & Felice), catching up with colleagues and friends as well as travelling in Southern Europe.
Huw has over 30 years’ experience in the life sciences, biotechnology and pharma markets in sales roles, sales management, product management and at Director level across the UK, Europe and Globally. His career includes being awarded the Global Presidents Award for his business development in the field of confocal microscopy and imaging and has significantly grown business’ he has been involved with. Huw has also worked with R&D on the development of new products based on application trends and the voice of the customer. His style is of a “player manager” based on his extensive experience, networking and forging of business relationships. He listens to the needs of clients and provides the best possible solution.
After university where he gained a degree in Human Biology Huw worked in the clinical field and did research into the association of HIV with cervical cancer before branching out into the commercial world with Olympus winning salesperson of the year and studying for a CIM Diploma of Marketing. Global Product management with Bio-Rad then followed before moving to Leica Microsystems where he managed the Life sciences division across Northern Europe. His most recent positions have been Business Development Director at Baker Ruskin in the hypoxia field and then Sony Biotechnology in flow cytometry and analysis.
Huws skills will be invaluable to business’ in the life sciences who need to make the next step of commercialisation and need support in their sales strategy leveraging on his wealth of experience and network.

Björn runs his own boutique consulting firm with networking partners across the Asia. He is resident is Thailand, his company is registered in Hong Kong and his main focus is on China, India, Japan, and South Korea. Bjorn extends his reach with a network of associates based in these target markets. He has experience in several areas of the Life Science industry, including R&D (molecular biology, bioprocess development, implantable medical devices and GLP compliance [Analytical]), Business Development (Dealmaking, Due Diligence, S&E, etc.), Manufacturing (Facility Design & Engineering, GMP compliance) and Commercialisation (Marketing, Distribution and Logistics, and Sales).
Björn has worked in a wide diversity of life science fields, such DNA/RNA analysis, molecular diagnostics, bioprocessing, biopharma development, biosafety (Virus inactivation and removal), facility design, and engineering, GMP, medical devices development, and vaccine manufacturing, in a variety of therapeutic areas, diabetes, woman’s health, CVD, dermatology and oncology. He has performed international negotiations, evaluating, acquiring and doing in- & out-licensing of key technologies.

Duncan also provided executive coaching services outside of his client base, and is a classical marketer and customer advocate, a passionate problem-solver, and a creative and strategic thinker, and he believes good process and practice lie at the heart of profitable business growth.
Mark specialises in Change Management and Transformation programmes for business. Utilising broad commercial experience in multiple countries, cultures and industries and 8 years in depth leadership of change programmes Mark is adept at structuring and delivering effective change, to budget and on time.
Richard combined a highly successful commercial and scientific career. He held executive roles in large corporations such as Vice President & General Manager, Corning Life Sciences, President, Biodiscovery, PerkinElmer and VP, Roche Bioscience, as well as leadership roles in entrepreneurial businesses, including Chief Scientific Officer with DiscoveRx.
These roles have been combined with significant scientific achievement in Life Sciences with over 320 peer reviewed publications and 12 patents. Richard now provides support to Life Science businesses and investors, in the US, Asia and Europe, acting as an Independent Board Member, Consultant and Advisor. Consultancy work focusses on preclinical and early clinical drug discovery; technology innovation to commercialization – Mentorship and advisory work to management teams, CEOs and general managers; developing of high performing teams – Advice and consultancy of company strategic planning, including portfolio expansion, M&A, divestitures – Advice and consultancy on investor due diligence activities, prior to equity investment. David’s expertise is molecular diagnostics. David has deep knowledge of UK Genomics, and the practical roll out of new genomic assays across the NHS. David works with Life Science, Healthcare and Diagnostic companies and assists them with the practical implementation of Market Access, Reimbursement & Commercial Strategies.
